Netgear's 802.11ac WiFi Router, Claiming At 1.3 Gbit/s Bandwidth

Netgear has announces its awaited 802.11ac WiFi router, claiming at 1.3 Gbit/s bandwidth!
Netgear's WiFi router uses Broadcom's 802.11ac chip, which can provide 1.3Gbit/s on 5GHz WiFi frequency band, dropping to 450mb/s on 2.4 GHz band. Netgear said that its R6300 router also supports 802.11a/b/g/n meaning that old equipment will also work with the router.

Netgear has announced this earlier than scheduled but the IEEE has yet to certify standards. Netgear have claimed very impressive standards with this router, but you will need a 802.11ac adapter to get these impressive speeds, but at this moment in time, they are very hard to find.

David Henery, VP of product management for retail products at Netgear said that the R6300 will be coming out sometime during 2012.

The firm have included 4 gigabit LAN Ethernet Ports and one Ethernet connection port. They have also included two USB ports to connect hard drives and USB printers.

Netgear have said that the R6300 router will cost $200 and will be out in May.
