Borderlands, created by 2K games, one of the most influential and successful game developers of the 2000's creating such games as Bioshock, Mafia II, Bioshock 2, etc. On September 18th the next addition to the series will be released. Before I purchased Borderlands, I didn't know what to think, I looked at some videos and the only thing that stood out to me was that the graphics made the game look more like a cartoon more than anything else, and because of this I was sceptical whether to buy it or not, but me being me I did, and I was extremely glad that I did purchase it. It was a fantastic game, and the quests were engaging, it was a long storyline which is always a bonus with such a good game. Also the amount of guns that you could have in the game was just ridiculous, there was thousands, and with the several pieces of DLC that were released a few months after the game had been released.
Anyway on to Borderlands 2, if you haven't seen the trailer Click here. As you can see from the trailer, there will be 870 gajillion more guns, which is quite a few. Obviously there aren't that many guns in the game, but there are so many I could almost guarantee that you will not obtain half of the guns that there are in the game, and if you do, you seriously need to consider going outside. There are different games in Borderlands 2 also, as you can see from the graphic below, there is Axton, Salvador, Zero and Maya. I imagine that it will be exactly the same as the first Borderlands, where you choose which one of these characters you wish to be, and then you will have their specific ability in the game. Each of the specific abilities are listed below their names, so for example Salvador's is 'GUNZERKER'. This obviously implies that he will be the best with guns. Even though you choose a specific character, you will be able to customise elements of them whilst you level up during the game.
I think that this game will appeal to all of the fans of major RPG's, such as Fallout and Skyrim. The games are not at all similar in the respect of how they are played, but nevertheless they are fantastic games, and I have had both Fallout and Skyrim, and I can assure you that I will be purchasing Borderlands 2 when it is released in September later this year. I also believe that if you were to buy this game and complete it, it would be worth holding on to, because if 2K release as much DLC as they did for the last game, then it doubles the playing time for the game.
