Nexus 7 To Hit Retail Shelves In Australia, For $20 Premium

Google's just announced Nexus 7 tablet is just about to hit Australia's retail stores later this month. The device won't be available at the U.S price of $299. Gizmodo Australia reports that the ASUS Android OS Tablet has confirmed that the Nexus 7 (16GB model) will cost shoppers $319.

“The RRP of $319 for the 16GB Google Nexus 7 takes into account the costs associated with shipping the device to Australian stores. We believe this is great value and provides Australian consumers with the convenience of being able to purchase the 16GB Google Nexus 7 from their local store,” an ASUS spokesperson was quoted as saying.

This means that in Australia the price is $30 more than $299. Customers can still pre-order the Nexus 7 for a guaranteed delivery later this month, straight from Google Play.
