Star Wars Reborn!

Some of you Starwars fanatics may have been distraught when the last films were produced, thinking that it was the end of star wars completely.... But fear not, star wars will rise again! However the new films will be produced by Disney as George Lucas, Founder and Director of Lucas Arts, has sold the franchise to Disney who are hoping to create 3 new films, with the first one being introduced in 2015 and three following on from that. They are also hoping to bring out more films after that every 2-3 years.

Mr Lucas said: "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of film-makers."
"For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," Mr Lucas said.

"I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime."

Disney are planning to pay for this big sum of $4.05bn (2.5bn) by paying half of it in cash and half in stock which also include 40 million Disney shares aswell.

Following the buy out of Pixar Studios for $7.4bn in 2006 and Marvel Comics for $4.2bn in 2009, could we possibly be looking at the biggest film organisation in the world? Are Starwars fans worried about how the next films are going to be portrayed now new imaginations have taken over? looks like we'll find out in 2015. Over and out.
