Project Shield Here We Come!
Nvidia has completely changed their game plan, from manufacturing gaming chips and graphics cards. They have recently announced a new handheld gaming console that will possibly be released in the near future. 'Project Shield' is the name of the new project which is expected to take the handheld gaming market by storm.
The way to best describe this is an Xbox styled controller with a screen attached to the top, however this screen is a 5inch touch screen, with a 720p resolution and the controller includes joysticks, buttons and other controls such a thumbpad and menu buttons.
Steaming Ahead
One aspect of this device that separates itself from the competition is that you are able to sync the device to the Steam library on your PC which means that you can then play more powerful, perhaps more advanced games right in your hands as the PC that your paired to will be used to power the software your playing. The company's Cheif Executive, Jen Hsun Huang stated that:latency was so short it was as if you are connected to the PCWhich means that it takes the same time to respond to commands on the console as if you was playing on the PC, enabling the user to enjoy the full gaming experience without any latency whilst playing. One slight problem they have discovered at the moment is that you are only able to sync with your PC on your home network, which means you'll probably prefer to just play on the PC, however they are still in development and one of the main issues they are planning to tackle is this problem. If the problem is resolved, it will mean that you are then able to play on the console absolutely anywhere with Wi-Fi.
The release date and also the price of the console are yet to be released, but this is definitely going to be a must buy for younger gamers and possibly the adult gamers who are in touch with their younger side.
