Xbox live is currently experiencing some major problems to the service, with many users reporting problems when trying to sign in to Microsoft's online gaming platform. The outage came across inconveniently during the peak weekend gaming hours. Many of the most popular apps on the Xbox 360 such as Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu, and YouTube are tied to Xbox live Gold subscriptions; which means if you're unable to sign in, then you will not be able to access any content. Microsoft has confirmed the ongoing issue on its Xbox support website, pledging that "every available resource" is currently working to get players back online. IN the meantime, the company is providing status updates every 30 minutes.

Later this week, in-game purchases will be coming to the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II later this week, before being rolled out to the PC and PS3 at a later date.

According to MCV, tomorrow you'll be able to buy optional micro-items in the game that Activision's Dan Amrich calls "either personal customisations or nice little luxuries", which won't affect gameplay" but rather offer "small, specific ways to enhance your online experience".

Personalisation packs will cost 160 MS Points each, and will offer unique weapon camons, three targeting reticules and Calling Card. Ten extra Create-a-Class slots will also be available for 160 MS Points, while a Flags of the World Calling Card Pacs will set you back 80 MS Points. Rouding out the new items on offer is the nuketown 2025 multiplayer Zombies map for 400 MS Points.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 2
TranZit

TranZit is the new zombie map in Black Ops 2, in TranZit it has a new exploration mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies. It is completely different from the other maps we all have played in Black Ops 1 and also Call Of Duty 5. The first map is "Green Run" and different locations are accessible either by the bus or foot or even the teleports scattered around the map.

TranZit uses rounds, and functions like the old zombies game, aside from the size and some of the new features. A new feature in the game includes, buildables, this allows the player to build items in game such as; Items to attach to the bus to get an advantage over the zombies such as a ladder to access the roof of the bus or even a plow to attach to the front and mawl down zombies in your path. Also you have to build the pack a punch machine that is located in the bank. Getting into the bank can be tricky if you don't know how to access it.

Also a new feature to TranZit is being able to build special equipment in which can help you in different ways, the pieces of equipment you can build are:

  • generator- that allows you to open special doors without having to use your points.
  • A shield- That protects your back and also can be used to bash zombies out of the way.
  • Jet gun- this is a extremely powerful weapon that is very useful in tricky situations
  • Sentry Gun- Used to kill zombies
  • Electricity Trap- Used to kill zombies hardcore style

What We Think Of The New Map

We think that the new map is very different from what we've experienced before, someone people will love it and some will completely hate it. I love it, I love the new features to the game , it keeps it fresh and makes me wanting more zombie action. Im looking forward to seeing what new ideas the DLC's this year will bring.

Overall I would give TranZit 8/10

GTA 5's second trailer from Rockstar has just launched moments ago showing the world the game's three new playable characters, it also shows us a few snippets from the new heist gameplay that's supposed to be the central mission mechanic.

Throughout the trailer, we are shown three new characters engaging the customary GTA action. Driving cars, fighting, drug dealing and the odd shootout.

We see the gang trying to steal cars on a highway right off the back of a truck. We seem them jumping from a train as it collides with another and we even see them stealing cars from a in-flight plane!

Rockstar said that players will be able to switch between each of the three characters during missions, ensuring players get the best view of action. What we can see of the heist missions shown in the trailer is that they'll also be highly cinematic affairs almost certainly ending with a bang. The jet fighter footage alone is enough to get GTA fans' trigger fingers itching.

Can Rockstar use the heist as a way of evolving the kind of missions we usually expect of a GTA, though? The second trailer leaves GTA fans more ambitious to try out the new type of mission structure.

Without a doubt, Rainbow Six: Patriots could definitely be a game changer for a variety of different reasons. Personally, after playing both of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas' games a good many years back; I have yet to play a 'Tactical Shooter' which has the strategic gameplay of both Vegas 1 and 2. Also, I am very reluctant to purchase the same game on different consoles; yet Vegas 2 is one of the few games I have for bought for both console and PC. Even better, I don't regret buying the same game twice. Even now amongst the many shooter's released, I still return to the Rainbow Six: Vegas series, mainly for its brilliantly designed 'Cover and Shoot System', as well as for the range of customization available, which includes both guns and the type of armour. This is why I believe if Patriots keeps the crux of the beauties of the Vegas series, rest assured in will be a game-changer in both 'Tactical Shooters' and 'First-Person Shooters' to come in the next few years.

It was of course big news when the debut trailer of Rainbow Six: Patriots was unveiled. The game is still enshrouded in speculation and right at the forefront is whether or not Patriots will be a game designed for Next-Gen consoles soon to come in a few years' time. If you have not yet checked out both the reveal and debut trailer, please do.

There is speculation that Rainbow-Six Patriots could be released for Next-Generation Platforms to come in the following years. Although an epic reveal trailer has been released, the release date was predicted to be around 2013, but this rather misty release date could perhaps be moved to 2014 if it was to be designed for Next-Generation Platforms. Despite, my eager anticipation for the game, I do hope that Patriots will be released on Next-Generation Platforms. Why? Because a unique game series as good as Rainbow Six deserves the best the game market has to offer.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shed some light on the issue in a statement to Polygon :

"The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it's really good. so when it will come, it will surprise the industry."

As well as this, also in a statement to Polygon when asked whether Patriots could be a Next-Gen Game, although it could not confirm whether or not it will be, he said there is a "good chance" the game will be.

Borderlands 2 season pass will give users an amazing deal of all four upcoming DLC packs for just $30. This was revealed during the Gamestop press conference, and later confirmed to Kotaku by developer Gearbox Software.

There have been additional details leaked, one regarding that the season passes will be expected to launch in the near future, and with PAX just outside our front door, it seems likely that information will be made sooner rather than later.

Borderlands 2 is scheduled to launch on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 on September 18th.

Yes you heard it, Borderlands 2 will feature a 58 hour-long campaign, based on a recent play-through with one of the four playable characters available in the game, developer Gearbox Software confirmed.

Gearbox marketing VP Steve Gibson reasoned why the length of Borderlands 2 campaign is 58 hours long. He stated that it is the studio's perception of Borderlands as "a hobby."

"We look at it as a hobby, and that isn't even counting the new Badass Points system and how that'll affect every character you do. We want it to feel like you get more for your money. We're happy for people to pay their money once and feel that they get ongoing value."
A few guide guys just played through the Borderlands 2 campaign and they reported back that it takes 58 hours to play through the campaign. Remember though, that is only with just ONE playable character.

Halo 4

Halo 4 begins a fresh new game in the Halo saga, it begins where the last one left off. 343 Industries is now the ringleader of production in the Halo series since Bungie decided to leave Microsoft after the last halo. Since 343 Industries announced the confirmation of the making of the new Halo 4, the team immediately returned to work in continuing Spartan's story. The teaser trailer (Link Below) reveals that the Spartan is starting where he was left at the end of Halo 3. This will make us wonder, what has 343 Industries got on offer to us in this epic game? I for one can not wait for this.

Overall, Halo 4 will pick up where Halo 3 ended. Rumour has it that Halo 4 will be completed and released by fall this year.

Samsung will introduce a cloud-based video games service to its premium TV's. It has signed a deal with Gaikai to use their streaming technology to let customers play games written for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 without having to own the consoles as announced at the E3 games trade show in Los Angeles.

Samsung said the service will be made available  on its smart hub environment on high end TV's released later in the year.

Samsung's vice president of electronics visual display business said: "Samsung is excited to deliver this revolutionary gaming experience that takes advantage of all the benefits of cloud-computing, all on the central screen of the home"

However cloud relies on high broadband speed, which in some areas is not up to the speeds needed to be able to run these services properly and could result in lag, disconnection, a poorer visual look or not run at all. It is advised to check your broadband speed through your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and compare it to the required speed asked by these services. If the service does work it is also a good idea to monitor how much bandwidth you are using or you could have a nasty shock from your Internet bill.

A judge from US has recommended that the Xbox 360 should be banned from sale in the US following the discovery that Microsoft has infringed four of Motorola's patents relating to the use of wireless technology in controllers and H.264 which is a modern video compression format. Microsoft was found to have infringed these patents in April, but the recommendation to ban Xbox 360 sales was only issued on Monday 23rd of May.

The ban is just a recommendation of what the judge thinks should happen and doesn't mean that the ban will be put into place. The decision will first go to the International Trade Commission.

Microsoft commented in a statement by saying: "The recommendation by the administrative law judge is the first step in the process leading to the Commission's finial ruling. We remain confident the Commission will ultimately rule in Microsoft's favour in this case."

The International Trade Commission now has until August 23rd to decide whether or not to follow the ruling. If they decide that the console should face an sales ban, the decision will then go to the Obama administration for a 60 day review. If they choose to sing off the verdict, the ban will come in action.

GTA V, it is arguably the most anticipated games of all time, and there are several reasons as to why this is the case. Firstly the Grand Theft Auto franchise has been developed by Rockstar since 1997 when they helped DMA design release GTA london. Rockstar have been constantly praised on their skills of creating games. Most recently they have released Max Payne 3 on May 18th. I was eagerly anticipating this game, and purchased it on the day of release, and I believe that Rockstar have once again outdone themselves. The graphics are incredible, the multiplayer is so addictive, there are so many different types of customisation for the avatars and also the weapon load outs. Single player wise, this is without a doubt the best game that I have ever played, the level of detail, followed by the way that the story is told is unique, fresh, and just mind boggling.

Anyway, on the subject of the new Grand Theft Auto, it is going to be arguably one of the best games of all time, and I could leave it there, but your here for the details, so I shall provide them to you. Firstly GTA V should be released (according to Rockstar) in October 2012, whether this actually is going to happen remains to be seen. In October of 2011 a trailer for the game was released. If you have been living under a rock for 5 years and haven't seen the trailer then you need to Click here. As you can see from the trailer, although it is not a gameplay trailer, there is a significant improvement on the graphics, and if all of the aspects of the trailer are playable through the game, it will be simply unrivalled. One of the major differences to the game this time around, looks to be the fact that you are able to control aeroplanes, this (in my opinion) was one of the greatest downfalls of GTA IV, the fact that you could only use helicopters, but not aeroplanes. Also in the trailer you see a car in the middle street with it's roof being lowered whilst it is stationary, this is also a new feature (if it will actually be featured in the final game is yet to be confirmed) and the picture of the convertible is below.

I simply cannot wait for this game, it is a must buy for anyone with an Xbox or a Playstation, if Rockstar do as good a job as they normally do with any game that they produce, it will be mind-blowing.

When you enter the magical world of Skyrim you awake on a horse and cart traveling to your destination where you are about to get decapitated, but lucky enough you are interrupted my the main dragon of the game (Alduin) that burns down the town of Helgen. After you've completed this mission that leaves you on the edge of your seat, wanting more action you travel to River Run that is a small friendly town. This is where you learn the basics of the epic game, smithing, talking to locals and much more.

After you have the basics nailed you make your way through the extraordinary thrilling game play of Skyrim; by battling Dragons, Elf's, Orks and many more that is thrown at you or exploring dungeons or caves searching for rare treasures in their unique location. If the main missions are not your thing you can do side quests or even just upgrade your character by doing; alchemy, alteration, marksman, block, conjuration, destruction, enchanting,  heavy amourillusion, light amourlockpicking, one handed weapons, pickpocket, restoration, smithing, sneak, speech craft, two handed weapons. If you've played the former game from the Elder Scrolls collection; Oblivion you will remember the Dedric Princes. In Skyrim you come face to face with them again and fulfill their exciting quests they have on offer.

This game is brilliant if you want a game that you do not want to put down. There is something for everyone in this game from quests to cooking. The actual map of the kingdom of Skyrim is huge you are bound to get lost every now and then, but this adds to the epicness of the game.

But there is no such thing as a perfect game, with this huge map that is offer to you to explore there are a few glitches/bugs when you are exploring places that you shouldn't be, this consists on walk through rocks and walls. But hopefully Elder Scrolls sort this out with a new patch.

Overall the team at Rumournal give this epic game 9.5/10

Halo, one of the most successful gaming franchises that we have ever had the pleasure to play. And on November the 6th the start of the brand new Halo trilogy, which will still feature Master Chief as the main character. Although it is Halo 4, it will not be created by the same company that created the first trilogy. Bungie (the company that made the first trilogy) have now joined Activision, who are responsable for creating Call Of Duty games. So because Bungie are now a part of Activision they were no longer allowed to be a part of the Halo franchise, which is a catastrophic error, because they have lost out on one of the biggest grossing game franchises ever!

Even though Halo is one of the most popular games on Xbox, when it is released in November it will have fierce competition. Supposedly the new Grand Theft Auto will be released nearer the end of October, and Assassins Creed 3, and also Resident Evil 6. The Halo franchise has sold over 40 million copies the world over, and the next three Halo games (4,5, and 6) will all be released within the next decade. Halo 4 is set four years after Master Chief famously cryogenically froze himself in space, and the Chief will apparently "confront his destiny and face an ancient evil".

Within the trailer of Halo 4, there has been much discussion of "taking their time" with this game, to make it the best they possibly can. If you Click here you will be able to see the trailer, and information directly from the employees from 343 studios. I personally cannot wait for this game! I am a huge fan of the series and have had all of the games that have been released. The only thing I am having slight doubts about, is the change in company, will it be to big of a change? Will the elements of Halo that we know and love no longer be there? Well in November we shall find out.

Since Microsoft launched Xbox Live we have put up with entering long codes into the Xbox just to buy an add-on, video or even a game. Well now those days could be numbered.

According to a report, they might be going away this year to be replaced by a more suitable method, which could be using  real currency to be used for not only Xbox Live but Zune Marketplace and Windows Phone.

Although Microsoft points were the only way to buy items on Xbox Live, in 2009 they introduced Games on Demand where Microsoft started asking for real currency in exchange for retail Xbox 360 games. From then on people have been asking why cant they use this currency system for the whole of Xbox Live Marketplace. Even the exchange rate of points to money is confusing as its hard to work out how much a certain amount of Microsoft Points is worth, so you do not even know how much your spending on that video or game.

Its unlikely that many people will be upset of their removal as they bring us no benefit using them and cause too much hassle.
