Apple has just aired two new iPad Mini ads which include Books and Photos. Not long ago, Apple aired the first iPad Mini app Piano. The ad was the Original iPad next to an iPad mini with both of them opened with a Piano app playing along with each other. The ad was also shown at Apple media event where the iPad mini was unveiled.


Books:

 

Apple's ad books for the iPad mini focuses on how the iPad is just like the original iPad being an e-reader. It shows them both side-by-side both opening and closing books in iBooks.

The second ad is called 'Photos', it uses the same side-by-side format as the other two iPad mini ads. Apple shows off iPhoto for iOS with the 60's classic song Two of a kind by Bobby Darin and Johnny Mercer in the background.

It looks like iOS 6.1 is on its way with the first beta arriving to developers. The update is expected to arrive sometime after the holidays with Xcode 4.6 preview for developers to tinker with. The codename for the build is "Build 10B5095f" which has been seen on Apple's official site.

The most notable new tool is a class called "MKLocalSearch" for the Map Kit framework. It lets programs "search for map-based addresses and points of interest." It lets developers enter placename information and portions of address and have search returns that match the info and provide additional data.

An example given by Apple was if a user searched for "coffee," the new tool would generate returns with the location of local coffeeshops and provide extra info on each java joint.

The release of iOS 6.0.1 which fixed many important bugs that needed to be addressed.

Those hoping that Apple Maps would be fixed during the incremental update should continue to hold their breath. Many users have been upset with the inaccurate and missing data in the navigation app Apple launched during iOS 6 to replace Google Maps

Apple releases iOS 6.1 beta to developers

It looks like iOS 6.1 is on its way with the first beta arriving to developers. The update is expected to arrive sometime after the holidays with Xcode 4.6 preview for developers to tinker with. The codename for the build is "Build 10B5095f" which has been seen on Apple's official site.

Another reliable source called BGR (Boys Genius Report)  claims that Apple has been testing the update with a few carriers in the U.S adding:

”iOS 6.0.1 should fix the horizontal lines bug on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open, and it will also fix a problem with the camera’s flash not going off.”

“In addition, the new software will improve Wi-Fi support, fix cellular data not working in some cases, add a consolidated cellular data switch for iTunes Match, fix a bug that allowed access to Passbook pass details from the lock screen, and also finally fix the bug that caused Exchange meetings to be unexpectedly cancelled for the entire calendar invite group.” 

Also, the company is also just beginning to test iOS 6.1 update, which makes this "extremely unlikely" that it will ship with the iPad Mini on November 2nd.

"This makes it extremely unlikely iOS 6.1 will ship with the new iPad mini by November 2nd unless there is a separate build just for the new iPad, and iOS 6.1 for all other devices will launch at a later time."

We are still unsure of the timeframe of the update but it could come after the holidays or sometime this year.
